The first milestone release of jetty-hightide-8 is now available from
http://dist.codehaus.org/jetty/jetty-hightide-8.0.0/

This release supports Servlet Specification 3.0 and provides 
example webapps that demonstrate 3.0 features such as:

+ web-fragments
+ annotations
+ ServletContainerIntializers

This release also supports jsp-2.2 and el-2.2.

NOTE ON BUILDING FROM SOURCE:
If you wish to check out and build this release from source, you
will need to edit the top level pom and uncomment the lines surrounded
by "uncomment to build". This is a temporary workaround for the lack
of availablity from the central maven repository of some of the artifacts 
on which jetty depends.
