Better say the same thing as in the bug report :-)
I vote for 2) with the process list shown by default and the pane split
horizontally.
The advantage of the process list is that only 1 click is needed to switch
between the outputs of different processes.

Pertaining to Bug 7715

We are looking at ways to allow the user to select the process whose output
will be displayed in the Console.
The options are:
(1) Triangle view menu gives access to all processes (similar to search
history)
(2) A hideable process list, with configurable split pane
(vertical/horizontal)
Anyone who interested please indicate your preference.
