I know that many of you are eager to get started on working towards Java 9 support in Eclipse. I just wanted to ask for everyone's patience as we work through the licensing issues related to providing open source implementations of an incomplete JCP spec. We are working on this topic as we speak, and will hopefully be back with good news soon.

Based on the Early Access license for Java 9[1], please proceed with implementation work for Java 9. As in Java 8, the work will have to be a separately installable feature pack that we can pull later, once the spec goes final. I will continue working on fixing that as well.

Thanks for your patience.
