Re: [incquery-dev] [viatra-dev] Pre-configured Eclipse instances for download

Hi,

in short term, I don't think having a standalone Eclipse instance available helps in case of VIATRA (and the same for EMF-IncQuery), as we are positioning our tools to be installable to any existing Eclipse instance.

Furthermore, providing these all-in-one downloads is time consuming (both in real build execution time and maintenance time), so I am not really sure whether its worth the effort. And any solution, that relies on students for this is a bad idea, because we want a solution for a long time.

On the other hand, I think it would be a good idea to have a Marketplace entry for VIATRA as well; until we have a release, we could set it up with milestone builds. This is really low-cost, and it could help for our users a lot.

Cheers,
Zoli

Maybe this would be the most useful for users of milestones (=testers, students, etc), as releases are (IMHO) sufficiently straightforward to install via the Marketplace, and anyone using the integration builds is smart enough to know how to do so.
