That's a good point. I tried to phrase this as general as possible, but indeed, these two groups are the pertinent examples.

If you have time for this
I was thinking about scheduling it after the release maybe.
BTW, aren't there bachelor/master students with a topic on build automation? :)

However I’m not sure how big a difference this would actually make. Maybe this would be the most useful for users of milestones (=testers, students, etc), as releases are (IMHO) sufficiently straightforward to install via the Marketplace, and anyone using the integration builds is smart enough to know how to do so.

On the other hand though, this is obviously only feasible in an automated fashion, which means putting effort into "extra-functional development", to say so. (That is, spending undoubtedly fun hours/days/weeks with Hudson, Maven and related stuff.)


What do you think?
My 2c is that it would worth the efforts, although I understand if some of you find this an overkill at first glance. Anyhow, let's have a conversation on this and the possible alternatives.

I kinda suspect this has been discussed previously, so any pointers to older threads are welcome. :)
