[incquery-dev] Pre-configured Eclipse instances for download

Hi guys,

I had a not-so-pleasant experience recently with an inexperienced Eclipse user trying to install VIATRA and all its prerequisites. It made me wondering whether we should kinda "lower the threshold" for getting started with our tools.

As you probably know, Xtext provides pre-configured Eclipse instances with the latest released Xtext version: https://www.eclipse.org/Xtext/download.html. As the first release of VIATRA3 is coming, maybe we could consider doing so as well.

This would definitely make it easier to get started with our tools. (And PR-wise speaking: it would also increase the chances to attract new users, especially the ones lacking experience in Eclipse.)
On the other hand though, this is obviously only feasible in an automated fashion, which means putting effort into "extra-functional development", to say so. (That is, spending undoubtedly fun hours/days/weeks with Hudson, Maven and related stuff.)

What do you think?
My 2c is that it would worth the efforts, although I understand if some of you find this an overkill at first glance. Anyhow, let's have a conversation on this and the possible alternatives.

I kinda suspect this has been discussed previously, so any pointers to older threads are welcome. :)

Cheers,
Istvan
