Consistency is something that can only be fixed with some work on Platform UI. For example, it's the place where common commands could be defined to have all editors using them (so same command use same icon, same keybinding and so on), it's actually the place of almost all commons. People who care about IDE consistency would better contribute bugs and patches to Platform UI rather than spending time "just" discussing on whatever council IMHO.
