I'm sorry I don't have the time to properly walk you through the code
(I'm leaving in a few hours for Eclipse Summit Europe, and still have
several things to pack :-) ).
You can look at wtp integration as an example. I think the extension
points, although different, are simiar.

BTW: q4e development has been moved to the Eclipse foundation, with
the Eclipse IAM name. The project page is at http://eclipse.org/iam
I'll be back in a week or so and we can talk about this integration
(unless by chance you'll be at the Eclipse Summit Europe at
Ludwigsburg).

Eclispe plugin developers have to choose between m2eclipse and q4e,
with the side effect that we may not have all desired support in
eclipse. Subversive (eclipse SVN official client) only support
m2eclipse AFAIK, others may only work with q4e...
