I'm in charge of this task for IBM.
Currently, this task just is started.
The plan is first to investigate the
addition of the follwing JUnit-based tools:
- HTTPUnit: this is for the HTTP protocol-based
test and the idea here is to enhence the URL testing tool existing in Hyades
- Cactus for J2EE component testing.
Nothing exists in Hyades today for this kind of test, This issue I have
with Cactus is the need of WebTool project to automate the execution. To
be investigate
- Abbot for GUI testing. Nothing exists
in Hyades today for this kind of test, and I think that Abbot is a good
candidate for this. More investigation need to be done
No other JUnit-based tools have been
considered, but other proposals could be studied. But, with JUnit, HTTPUnit,
Cactus & Abbot, Hyades will cover a very large spectrum of testing
activities.
You can also have a look on the task
"JUnit integration between Hyades and JDT" which targets the
enhencement of what we have today for JUnit tests.

[hyades-dev] junit and derivatives
Hello All,
I have been reading that Hyades will support
junit derivatives. Can anyone tell me about the status of this?
Thanks.

Jim
