4) Operation of the current plan
No one present from the committer call.
5) Technical forward plan
A face to face meeting (F2F) is being proposed around the 17-20th
August. Hoang Nguyen at Intel has sent a draft request about this
meeting. Don expressed interest from the Compuware team, and agreed to
respond to the draft by the end of the week.
The next quarterly F2F meeting for the whole team is also due to take
place around August. This will focus on the transitioning work that is
required and follow-up on the last F2F, and will probably take place on
the east coast of the US.
ACTION: Tyler to email proposed times and agenda ideas to the group.
6) Internal and external communication
A number of press interviews have been scheduled. Some have taken place
already (Jennifer DeJong at SD Times and Darryl Taft at eWeek). More
interviews are scheduled, although some rescheduling has also to take
place.
At this point, it is possible that the press release might not be
distributed on any news wire service, unless Eclipse can find a way of
doing this.
Ling presented the Hyades-related activities that will happen at
LinuxWorld. A booth presentation will be prepared, and a demonstration
pod will also be available. In addition to that, a round table discussion
is planned on the wider subject of how Eclipse can benefit Linux. The
following people/organisations are expected to be involved in this round
table: Novell, Mike Norman Scapa Technologies, Jonathan Khazam Intel,
IBM, Mike Milinkovich Eclipse. Kevin Bedell, editor-in-chief of
LinuxWorld Magazine has agreed to be the moderator of the round table.
ACTION: Melanie to continue to coordinate new requests for interviews
ACTION: Ling and Melanie to find out if the press release will be
distributed on business wire etc. on August 2nd.
