[hyades-dev] UI meeting minutes - April 7, 2004

Attendees :

Neil, Anthony, Geary & team, Dominique, Julien, Valentina, Curt

Agenda:
- Performance monitoring launch scenario
There has been discussed the usecase scenario for launching and collecting data using the perfmon agent. Currently, the user has to create a statCon file, set the collection options, then open the statcon editor and run the perfmon agent using a popup action within the editor. This is not intuitive and also is not aligned with the Hyades standard way of launching and controlling an active agent.

Solution for M9 (candidate driver April 16):
The launch perfmon action should be available from the Eclipse Profile launch configuration dialog. We found two possible approaches:
1. Use the existing Attach - Java process configuration
This will be the solution for M9, assuming the RAC can query the existing configuration, identify the perfmon agent as an agent to attach to and make it available in the attach wizard. This is not working now and Neil will follow up with Richard to understand whether it is viable solution.
2. Create a new Profile configuration type for a Perfmon agent.
Anthony will contact Curt to find out how to use Eclipse extensions to create this configuration.

- Test Navigator

Wayne was no able to attend today's meeting and there was no interest from the attendees to discuss the Test Navigator, so this item has been removed from the agenda.
Let me know if somebody wants to have this item discussed in the next UI meeting.
