Well you can see Hudson in action in a couple of public places http://ci.hudson-ci.org and https://hudson.eclipse.org/hudson/ for example.  But these are both "working" sites where you can't start to play for yourself. 

The simplest thing is to just download the code (e.g. the Bundle version) and start it up from your command prompt. 

> java -jar hudson-3.0.0-bundled.war

The open your browser @ localhost:8080 and Hudson will be there
