Interesting note from Alexander about news from Google I/O that relates to our mobile development efforts:
Begin forwarded message:
> Subject: Android 2.2 FroYo keynotes
> Just FYI, Google introduced Android 2.2 FroYo few day ago on Google I/O. Few new features may be interesting for us:
> * "Android Cloud to Device Messaging Framework" http://code.google.com/android/c2dm/. This framework may be used for synchronizing data. You may see high level thoughts at http://wiki.azigo.net/display/Azigo3/Server+Push+proposal.
> * Adobe flash browser plugin is available on the android market (android app). Android Browser has menu Browser->More->Settings->"Enable plug-ins". I'm not sure, but it seems google provides API for supporting browser plugin (however i can't find it) or just back-door for flash plugin.
> * Android Browser supports APN proxy settings (but it doesn't work via wifi), so we may review again ability to use local proxy instead of enhanced browser.
> BTW, mozilla start doing nightly build of the fennec browser for android ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mobile/nightly/latest-mobile-trunk/. Latest fennec build supports browser extensions.
