Re: [higgins-dev] Cloud Selector | Integration with non java RP

Hello,

Any OpenID relying party written in any language can talk to the Cloud Selector.
Even existing ones that don't know anything about Cloud Selector and Information Cards.
So integration should be extremely easy.

The RP only needs extra logic if it wants to use the "advanced" modes of the Cloud Selector (e.g. requesting an entire security token instead of just a few attribute values).

For general considerations on the use of the Cloud Selector, see http://wiki.eclipse.org/Cloud_Selector:
"This can be useful on platforms where selector software is not available, as well as in scenarios in which the requirement for users to install extra software is considered to be unacceptable."
"The main downside of this approach is reduced privacy, since the i-cards of a user become highly correlatable via the OpenID identifier that is being authenticated..

Hi All,

I will like to hear the thoughts/ideas about integration of Cloud Selector with non Java based RPs. There are many components that enable proxy.test to be able to talk to proxy.web. It is unrealistic to expect all those changes to be rolled out with every RP and more so with non java based RPs. Please share your thoughts on the integration patterns as far as RP and Cloud Selector are concerned.

Another related request is to get thoughts on pros and cons on the usage of Cloud Selector.

Thanks for all the great software under the Higgins project!

Thanks,

Daljeet Singh
