I recently checked in an XML File Context Provider for IdAS (See http://wiki.eclipse.org/XML_File_Context_Provider for more information).

 

This provider will allow you to easily test applications that use the IdAS interface without having to deploy anything special on the backend.  The data is stored in a simple XML file and can be edited using the IdAS interfaces or using a text editor.  It is very easy to configure.  Hopefully, this will make it easy for people to test drive other components that use IdAS (such as the STS).
