RE: [higgins-dev] Higgins data model

Maybe what I should do then, is walk Vincent through an intro to Higgins, the M4 goals (http://spwiki.editme.com/DataModelGoalsM4), and maybe the M4 Data Model Proposal (http://spwiki.editme.com/DataModelProposal). Then ask him for unbiased opinions on how well suited he thinks the JNDI interfaces are to meeting the goals, what parts of JNDI would be thrown away, and what parts would need to change.

If he's willing to take time to answer that, I could relay it to the mailing list, and if we feel like further discussion is needed with Vinny involved, we could subscribe him.

In general this dev list is for folks contributing directly to Higgins, but if Vincent can help us then great.

On JNDI as a model in general, I can post my thoughts regarding that here. We can also invite Vincent Ryan (JNDI engineer) from Sun to participate in the discussion. Vincent can talk about JNDI's strengths and weaknesses much better than I can.  Would anyone object to him sitting in on that discussion?

Task H6-03-24 of the Milestone 0.4 plan (http://spwiki.editme.com/PlanM4) is about "refining the Higgins data model". To support that work we've begun creating listing our goals (http://spwiki.editme.com/DataModelGoalsM4 (this can be linked to from the main Higgins wiki page http://spwiki.editme.com/Higgins).

Let me kick this off with a question:

It has been suggested that instead of creating our own model, we might take a look at using all or some of JNDI. Could someone explain how one best use JNDI to support our notion of "IdFacet Relationships" (see "IdFacet Relationships" (currently item 9,10,11) here: http://spwiki.editme.com/DataModelGoalsM4)?
