Re: [henshin-dev] Incompatibility with Sirius

Hi Christian,

I'm sorry to bother you with this Sirius issue, but I noticed something quite unusual :
 - If I install Henshin with the checkbox "Contact all update sites during install to find required software" checked : the problem persists
 - If I install Henshin with the checkbox "Contact all update sites during install to find required software" unchecked : the diagram is successfully open

There is also this quote from Steve Monnier in Sirius forum : "We can add a test where you experienced the NullPointerException, but it is a wierd issue."

Do you know which dependencies could have been updated during Henshin installation, and could cause this particular issue ?

Regards,
Sebastien

Hi Sebastien,

I highly doubt that this bug is caused by Henshin. You should rather ask in the Sirius developer community.

Hi,

I'm working on a project using Sirius (http://eclipse.org/sirius/).
It appears that it can't work when Henshin is installed.

Are there known issues about incompatibilities with other Eclipse components ?

Here is what I did :
 - Open Eclipse (without Henshin installed)
 - Open a class diagram with Sirius : works fine
 - Install Henshin : Eclipse IDE restarts
 - Open a class diagram with Sirius : doesn't work, I get a NullPointerException (at org.eclipse.sirius.diagram.ui.tools.internal.palette.PaletteManagerImpl.replaceNoteAttachmentCreationToolIfNeeded(PaletteManagerImpl.java:394)).

Regards,
Sebastien
