Hi Jürgen,

Please have a look at ZookeeperBasedService. It's an abstract base class 
that you can extend and includes infrastructure code for working with 
ZooKeeper connections.

Let me know when you find it useful or have a few suggestions. This 
class is intended to become public API if there is enough interest.
