Re: [gemini-dev] Current snapshot of DB Access version 1.1 does not include H2 - why?

Hi Jan,

thanks for your interest in Gemini DBAccess and H2 support.

We are in the midst of including it. The latest information on the status can be found here:

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=365469,

I guess you have already found Bug 365469. Comment 3 (https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=365469#c3 ) and Comment 9 explain why we did not include the patches in their current shape:

For the Eclipse Foundation, IP cleanliness is of crucial importance, so it has a strict legal process (see also http://wiki.eclipse.org/Development_Resources#Everyone:_IP_Cleanliness ). In the end, a committer has to “tick” a contribution uploaded to a bug such that it appears in the IP log of the project. This means, the “ticked” upload has found its way into the sources of the project. For each line of this contributions it has to be clear, where it originates from (either genuine work, or from somewhere else, with appropriate licenses,…).

If the contribution contains more than 250 lines it is more difficult to check its origin and validity and the legal process is a different one (please see http://www.eclipse.org/legal/EclipseLegalProcessPoster.pdf). For that reason, we decided to proceed in proposed way (see http://wiki.eclipse.org/Gemini/Meetings/Minutes_Jan_17_2012).

Best Regards,

Jürgen

Subject: [gemini-dev] Current snapshot of DB Access version 1.1 does not include H2 - why?

Hi,

I like to use DB Access with the H2 database. So right now I checked out the sources that have been submitted as a patch.

Why are these not integrated in the current version 1.1? In version 1.1 I only see support for mysql but not for h2.

Thanks,

Jan
