[gef-dev] Release GEF 3.11.0 instead of GEF 3.10.1 for Mars SR1

Hi team,

we were planning to release GEF 3.10.1 for Mars SR1, including Draw2d & GEF (MVC) 3.10.1, Zest 1.6.1, as well as GEF4 0.1.0.

We are still on track for Draw2d, GEF (MVC) and Zest, but during our recent development work, Matthias and I incorporated some incompatible changes into GEF4, i.e. we broke some of the provisional API (see https://wiki.eclipse.org/GEF/New_and_Noteworthy/3.10.1). While we could still revert these changes and stick to a pure bugfix release for SR1 (that preserves our provisional API), I would rather like to include the fixes we applied to FXViewer, FXView and FXEditor and publish a minor release instead (while technically it would be ok to still publish 0.1.1, we would not be compatible to 0.1.0, and as our own version ranges are specified as "[0.1.0, 0.2.0)", we should at least ensure that clients who have adopted that scheme are not broken), i.e. GEF4 0.2.0 for Mars SR1. According to https://wiki.eclipse.org/SimRel/Simultaneous_Release_Policy_FAQ (I contacted Wayne to cross check) this would be in line with the simrel requirements as long as we provide the necessary review materials up to RC1 (we would have to adopt our release to be a 3.11.0 minor release and schedule a release review for it).

Any objections to changing the Mars SR1 release to be GEF 3.11.0, including Draw2d & GEF (MVC) 3.10.1, Zest 1.6.1, as well as GEF4 0.2.0?

Cheers
Alexander
