Re: [gef-dev] GEF4 Common

OK, then let's go with GEF4 Common for now. We may change it afterwards if we find something else more suitable.

OK, fine.

I would rather opt to only put "infrastructure" stuff into it. I would keep Graph as an own component.

Hi,

I have no real preferences; common seems acceptable to me. Maybe, we should also put the graph model into it as well...

Cheers,
Zoltán

Hi team,

something else in between (or somehow a preparation for the further KGraph-related discussion): as I have sketched in https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=439859, I am currently working on moving the MVC-unspecific parts (IAdaptable, IActivatable, etc.) from the MVC bundle into something like a GEF4 Common component (it should be an own component, so we can have javadoc, tests, etc.). This should be the place to host all those things that are (potentially) reused by all other GEF4 bundles (we could for instance also move support for dealing with Properties there, or reuse IAdaptable for it). However, before I actually create the component I would like to get opinions on what would be our desired name for it. Are there any preferences with respect to GEF4 Common, GEF4 Core, GEF4 Base, or something completely different, maybe even a metaphorical name like Google has chosen for its Guava?

Cheers
Alexander
