Sure. :-)
I am going to discuss this with our team, and get back to you on this. We have been open sourcing our work because we don't want to be stuck maintaining it. :-)
... Browsers got a lot faster recently. How does it feel for you? What about the load time?
What about the snappiness when using it?
The demo feels fast - but the GEF demo apps have always been fast.
If you can send me a link to the source - I can test it on one of our apps.
Are you guys also planning on making this work be available under EPL?
...We decided to put the client on the client. I have done a lot with RAP
and I really like it. But if the network is nasty, a RAP UI will get
really slow. GEFGWT can work completely offline. You only need some way
to load and save your model.
Good point about the network problems. I have generally liked the approach.
The biggest challenge is that most visualizations that we have - have been backed by a database. So it is not just about loading and saving your model. However, most interested clients have been willing to put in the resource to refactor such database queries.
