[gef-dev] GEF and Eclipse 4.x

Hi,

We have a set of RCP applications where GEF is a core component.

Now we would like to move to building them as Eclipse 4.x modeled 
applications.
However, since GEF has a hard dependency to the old 3.x platform, GEF 
views will only run with the compatibility layer that 4.x provides, 
which prevents switching to the modeled application approach.

What are the plans for supporting the "pure" 4.x model?
Is this something that will be done as a part of the GEF4 effort?
