Well, not really, that is for new projects only. For those in previous train, it's expected that they keep up (See "once in always in").
Guess that isn't well known?... and, in fact, it is on the agenda for this Wednesday's Planning Council meeting, so ...
since you Anthony are on the Planning Council ... you can voice your proposal to change that ... if that's what you mean.
Though, in either case, I see no great harm here in this case ... thanks to Alexander's bug list (very helpful, thanks!) ...
I was just confused, so thought I'd ask .... and am glad I did!

Thanks all,

Hi Dave,

In reality, the GEF project has not done any work towards Indigo yet. Someone else started for us by adding GEF 3.6.0 to Indigo. We will get back on track for M4, which is the first milestone that we actually have to join Indigo by.

I have promoted I201011072050 and will update the Indigo contribution file this week so at least we have a 3.7 build in Indigo.

Cheers...
Anthony

I went to update our WTP prereqs for Indigo, and discovered I'm a little confused on what build of GEF to use.

I've been using the 3.7 I-build ... only 3.7 thing available.

But that sole "3.7" GEF build is very old, an I build, from July:
I201007121249
with GEF SDK feature:

org.eclipse.gef.sdk_3.6.1.v20100621-2050-7G7R1A5WNc8QMaYXBGjTYMUUiNTJ

Whereas it appears there has been (much) more recent builds for GEF, but for 3.6.1 -- from September.
R201009132020
org.eclipse.gef.sdk_3.6.1.v20100908-1100-7G7R2A5WNcBQPZgXAHiSXMXYaKPI

To make matters worse, the Indigo contribution file for the common repo contains an even older version of GEF:

<
repositories location="http://download.eclipse.org/tools/gef/updates/releases/" description="GEF releases">
<
features name="org.eclipse.gef.sdk.feature.group" versionRange="3.6.0.v20100519-2050-7G7R-A5WNc7QL_fXBGjRZPUUiKPJ">

I don't know how much difference there is in all these versions ... but its disconcerting to see things are not being kept in sync.

Looks like it needs a little attention?

Hi all,

I have created an initial "new and noteworthy" document for the upcoming 3.7 release in the wiki, so we can continuously work on adding contents to it. Here is the link:
http://wiki.eclipse.org/GEF_3.7_New_and_Noteworthy.

Best Regards
Alexander
