New->Example...->GEF (...) [not plugins]-> Logic Diagram
select the Four Bit Adder Model.

You get a non-trivial bit of logic.

Use the context sensitive right button increment menu
item on the top left display widget and the bottom changes
automatically.

For more conventional stuff use the Shapes example.
