I am confident that Mohammed has what
it takes, but I think we need to follow the committer process more closely.
 One reason to do this is to encourage more contributions from the
community by anyone hoping to one day be a committer.  Community involvement
in the form of code patches has been pretty weak for the GEF project.

Mohammed has made significant quality
contributions to the GMF project, but by that logic I could be an SWT committer.
 I defer my favorable vote until we've followed the process and released
some patches to the 3.3/HEAD stream.

Mohammed has been a committer on the GMF project for over a year and played
a critical role bringing it to 1.0 status and out of incubation.  More
recently he has focused on the GEF project and has worked in areas of layout
in and developing fixes.  Over the next year, his focus will be more
exclusively on GEF to look at potential integration issues with GMF and
Eclipse platform (operation history / command frameworks).

+1 for committer status.
