[gef-dev] Custom rulers in an editor

Hi,

I want to create a custom ruler in my editor application.
Specifically, I want to create rectangular figures with different colors in
the vertical and horizontal rules.

>From the previous postings on the same topic I understand that GEF does not
provide an interface for customizing the ruler contents.

Can you please give me a few bullets on what I will need to get this done. I
have seen some applications with custom rulers in them. So I;m sure there is
a way out.

I'm posting this query on this mailing address, because I think a standard
solution
does not exist for this issue.
