[geclipse-user] (beginner) How to configure a VOMS-based VO in gEclipse

Hi List,

I added a VOMS VO to a fresh gEclipse installation (VO atlas). Unfortunately,
I found no documentation on how to configure a VOMS VO in gEclipse (The
documentation only refers the generic VO), and also didn't find any VOMS-VO
example in the net... so I started to configure it by trial&error and came up
with this:

Name: atlas
Host: voms.cern.ch
Port: 15001
Host DN: /DC=ch/DC=cern/OU=computers/CN=voms.cern.ch

For the Information system end point, I assumed our site BDII would be a good
choice, as I don't know exactly what belongs there... so I entered

grid-bdii.physik.uni-wuppertal.de:2170

Now, in the gEclipse User perspective, I can unfold the atlas-VO entry in the
project explorer[1], but there are no Applications, Compute-Nodes,
Storage-Nodes or Services visible at all - except the BDII, but with that,
one can do nothing, I guess. Though, gEclipse seems to have interpreted the
URL given above correctly as an "URL to a BDII server".

I would've thought gEclipse would use the BDII to fill all the other
categories in the tree... am I doing something wrong?

Sincerely,
Tim

[1] by the way, I don't quite understand why gEclipse implemented an own "Grid
Projects" view, the Navigator view should do the same job with appropiate
Content-Providers for the tree, shouldn't it? And it would give benefits like
supporting working sets and filters (hide closed projects, etc.) Or is it
planned to add those features to the Grid Projects view?
