Hi Szymon, Kasia,

i am a bit concerned about the SAM Test classes/interfaces/methods that 
were added in the core.  The SAM stuff is a purely gLite thing, currently 
at least, right? In that case i would expect it to live outside the core.

I didn't really check carefully but possibly your functionality is quite 
general, so it could be called something else more generic?
What does distinguish a SAM test from a single test testing a WMS or a 
globus resource for instance?

Well, at least 
  IGridSAMTest.getRegion()
is quite EGEE specific! (not only glite, but that distribution of sites 
in "regions" is an LCG/EGEE thing)
