Re: [ercp-dev] About mobile compabilities

Hi again,

I reply myself to point more ideas:

I suppose that eRCP it's not supported by Nokia S60 because it's not CDC. So, for deploying an eRCP application in these mobiles I will have to reimplement all the application for using MIDlets (like I mentioned in the previous mail). Am I right?

Anybody knows why Nokia left behind the series 80 (CDC compliance)? I think that there are very few mobiles with CDC compliance. Is CDC a discontinuous configuration or it's supposed to have more presence in the future?

Anyway we are going to work on the compliance of eRCP to the wider range of mobiles architectures.

Best regards.

Hi all,

I have some doubts about the devices that eRCP supports now and will support in the future:

Currently, eRCP works great with Windows Mobile, at least with the emulator. However, I'm not sure about the compability with Nokia series 60. If I'm not wrong, it's compatible with eSWT on MIDlets, but not with eRCP. So, if I have an eRCP application for Windows Mobile and I want to deploy it in a Nokia device, I must reimplement the application for using MIDlets, don't I? Is there any way to make Nokia S60 CDC compatible? Maybe installing a new JVM?

In the other hand, is there any project to support more devices like android or blackberry?

Thanks in advance.
