Re: [equinox-dev] [http] proposed donation of new http service implementation

Thanks Raymond.  This is great news!  I look forward to working with you to get this contributed to Equinox.  I went ahead and opened a bug to track the efforts [1].  I think once the current Luna release settles down we can start pulling this into master with a target of Mars.

I have discussed this with you in the past, but wanted others to know.  I  plan to nominate Raymond as Equinox committer as part of this review process.  It makes sense given the scope of this effort, Raymond's involvement in both the implementation at Equinox and the specification at the OSGi Alliance and Raymond's intention to stay involved long term.

Tom

Subject: [equinox-dev] [http] proposed donation of new http service implementation
Sent by: equinox-dev-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxx

Hello everyone,

I'd like to propose the donation of an implementation of the draft RFC 189 Http Whiteboard Service.

This donation builds on top of the existing equinox bundles:

rt.equinox.bundles/bundles/org.eclipse.equinox.http.servlet
rt.equinox.bundles/bundles/org.eclipse.equinox.http.servlet.tests

The work in progress can be found here [1]
The draft rfc on which this is based can be found here [2]

There are ~80 tests currently, and a significant portion of the functionality is already implemented.

Of course this is a work in progress and has not been subjected to peer review so please be kind. However, it's my goal to bring this work to completion, hopefully with the aid of the community, and to maintain it long term.

Sincerely,
