[equinox-dev] RE: equinox-dev Digest, Vol 28, Issue 48

Hi,
In fact, i'm not starting an RCP application so i don't have a product
defined. I was asking what could I specify for the following property in
jnlp file:

	<!-- The id of the product to run, like found in the overview
page of the product editor -->
    <property
        name="eclipse.product"
        value="???"/>

I want to start a whole eclipse platform. I tried to include all eclipse
plugins but I'm not able to specify the product to launch.
It is not a class cast exception but the following:

Thanks a lot,
Zahi

What errors if any do you see? Is it a ClassCastException? We are
currently investigating a webstart issue on 3.3 see
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=198462.  This bug may be
causing you trouble.

Subject
[equinox-dev] Starting Eclipse platform with java webstart

Hi,
Sorry for the mass mail, but i was trying to start the platform from a
java webstart. And I still didn?t manage it to work!

Could Eclipse 3.3 be started from a java webstart? (it is not the simple

case of a simple RCP, but the whole platform)
Has it been done before?
In the jnlp example file provided in the help I have to specify an
eclipse.product property value to run. I?ve tried unsuccessfully the
different ones found in the osgi bundle. What did I miss?
Should I create a new separate product project in eclipse and make it
call
the main class in osgi plugin to start it?

Thanks a lot,
Zahi
