Hi, thanks for the reply. i'm actually using 1.5.0_10-b03.
my bug is not the same either, i get the osgi> prompt for a brief
moment. i once managed to type "d" (while trying to issue dd) and the
console replied "no such command" then exited. so, it seems like the
console is taking input but something exits soon after the console appears.
i'll keep at this. thanks.

Are you using a 1.4.x JVM? If so then you may be hitting this bug:
