Hello all,
Since Aleks (Kurtakov) announced he will no longer be maintaining the Java package, we’ve already talked and coordinated with Jonah (Graham) and Aleks regarding the future
of the Java package. The Java Package is regularly among the top entries in terms of distribution and download numbers of the Eclipse IDE packages and provides a high leverage for the Eclipse IDE.
Of course, it also provides the most common starting point for our own UML modeling tool users. In order to maintain the possibility for the users of the Eclipse IDE, we will make ourselves available here to maintain the Java package for the coming releases. I therefore propose my colleague, friend and teammate Dr. Leif Geiger (https://projects.eclipse.org/user/12943). Besides his many years of experience as a Software Architect
and Product Manager at Yatta, Leif is currently also the open-source project lead for the Eclipse Marketplace Client and has also been involved in packaging UML Lab for a long time. – Leif has signaled his approval, and has been granted time & budget resources
for this from our company. To be able to measure the success of the package, I would like to ask, how you currently measure the success and the impact of the Packages? Are there KPIs like distribution,
