Hi Wayne,

Many thanks for this help!

If we're to follow the process to the letter, you should ask your PMC (Tools) to petition the Eclipse Planning Council to decide on the respin.

Since time is short and we need to get this started sooner rather than later, I've short circuited the process a bit and have made the petition to the PC on behalf of the Tools PMC.

OK. Thanks, Markus!
I'll try writing to the cross-project-issues-dev list.

Hi Kaloyan,

that sounds worse... in that case you need to (officially) request a respin, or to be more precise, the Planning Council representative of your top-level project needs to move that forward. It wouldn't be the first time that we have a respin, but with every respin it is a decision between fixing something and the risk of introducing another problem.

After such a respin we can certainly rebuild the packages.

Markus

Hi Markus,

We don't want to remove the entire Composer feature from the PHP EPP.

We want to revert a change in PDT. This would indeed require a respin of the Neon.3 p2 repo.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I just want to confirm

- that you don't need any changes in the Neon.3 p2 repository or update any contributions to this p2 repository
- that the only change required is reverting https://git.eclipse.org/r/#/c/85577/ in the EPP Git repository?

If this is true, I'd recommend to make the required changes in the EPP Git repository and start a full rebuild of all packages. At this point in time it's always the safest way (and because it is RC4 and we are not publishing them today on the download page I'm relatively relaxed).

Thanks,
Markus

Hi,

We found a blocker bug in PHP EPP [1]. The bug is in PDT, so it affects only the PHP EPP and not the entire release train.

What are our chances of respinning just the PHP EPP?

Dear Package Maintainers,

you are waiting for a build-is-ready-to-test mail? Here it is... ;-)

The p2 repositories for upgrades and updates are
Please test as usual and send your vote for the Neon.3 packages to this mailing list.

Because these RC4 packages are the ones that are supposed to be released as final Neon.3 packages, they won't be made available tomorrow/Friday.

Thanks,
