I've added two more bug reports that need consideration in this area. To the best of my knowledge we've got the following bugs that fall into this category:


Bug 423734 - Require Java Version 1.7 or higher in all EPP packages

Bug 361628 - Nested jars cannot be unpacked with Java 1.7

I'd suggest to discuss this during EclipseCon (and on the respective bug reports) and decide then about the next steps for M7.

There are still two options: Restrict only the packages in question, or all packages (affected or not) which is still my favorite.

Maybe we can discuss it on the bug report or here F2F.

indeed, I've unpacked a fresh version of the Automotive IDE and made sure that it runs on top of a Java 7 VM when launching it for the very first time.
