Re: [epp-dev] Testing Luna M4 packages (cmd line Mac)

I opened this one:
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=424488
I put a link to yours in there. Feel free to fix it if there's a better way. Dup?

I could not find a bug that had been open on this ... so I opened one:

and documented there how we in the platform got around this issue.

Hope it helps,

I agree... I'm using the command line myself on Linux to start the package. Can you open a bug with everything that helps tracking down the root problem?
I can try to help fixing the problem, but I definitely need help from someone with OSX experience, and someone who has a Mac to test the results.

Thanks, Markus

Markus,
The Mac package (I'm testing parallel package mac 64) no longer works when launched from the command line.
I have always done:
tar -xf foo.tar.gz
cd eclipse
./eclipse -showlocation -data /path/to/workspace

So I like the command line invocation to keep my command lines and my workspaces straight for testing lots of builds.

Double-clicking on the Eclipse.app from the mac Finder does work just fine, however.
Which is how most folks would probably use it.

Hi Package Maintainers,

the Luna M4 packages are waiting to be tested... please note that the download location has changed. They are now available from

https://hudson.eclipse.org/packaging/job/luna.epp-tycho-build/34/

Just follow 'Build Artifacts' > 'org.eclipse.epp.packages' > 'packages' and follow the next links to your zip/tar.gz archive with the package.

Thanks,
Markus
