Re: [epp-dev] Kepler SR1 RC4 (final)

I've opened bug 418203 and suggest all package maintainers take a look, make sure still accurate for your package ... to have some minimum "procedure" there, so others could in theory "test your stuff" if the need ever arose.

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=418203

Please comment in the bug when you are "done" (either confirm still accurate and sufficient, or that you've updated it) so we'll know when to close the bug.

Thanks,

Thanks for the testing (and especially the +1). I'll gave it a small smoke test in the meantime but it's good to have a second pair of eyes looking at it.

Regards,

Markus

Tested linux-gtk (32-bit) using Oracle 7u40 (32-bit) on RHEL-6.3 (64-bit).

Java Tutorial / Cheatsheet from Welcome is fine (*), MPC works even without the embedded browser available, egit is fine for clone & import, nothing in errorlog.

(*) probably small glitch with Cheatsheets:

The Java Helloworld Cheatsheet seems to “mark a step completed” sometimes a bit prematurely. Eg even when I cancel the new project wizard, respective step is marked as complete. I don’t know whether it always worked that way or would be a new artifact … I’ll investigate and probably file a defect, but from a package point of view it’s a go.

Thanks,

Martin

[epp-dev] Kepler SR1 RC4 (final)

Hi package maintainers,

it is time to test the Kepler SR1 RC4 packages. They can be found here:

http://build.eclipse.org/technology/epp/epp_build/kepler/download/20130919-0822/

For upgrade scenarios via p2 you can use these p2 repositories:

http://download.eclipse.org/releases/maintenance/

http://build.eclipse.org/technology/epp/epp_build/kepler/download/20130919-0822/repository/

- We've had some bad experiences with updates from the relased version to an SRx version in the past, especially with Mac OSX. It help if some of you could test this kind of update. I've tested the RCP/RAP package successfully on Linux and on Windows.

- The RC4 packages won't be released today. Instead they will be made available next Friday as "SR1" packages if you send your +1 vote. Independent from the Simultaneous Release schedule it would be great to get your votes until Monday. This allows me to copy the packages to the download/mirror servers early next week.

Thanks,
Markus
