Re: [epp-dev] action required!

Hi Markus,

I think that Platform / Standard does *not* contain incubating components, but with the caveat below:

Platform, JDT, PDE, Egit, MPC are all mature.

Same for EPP itself, Equinox, ECF and EMF which the Platform pulls in.

But some e4 bundles are at a 0.10 or 0.11 version and the e4 Project has the Incubation icon:

http://www.eclipse.org/e4/

I think that this was resolved long ago -- when Platform was allowed to release 4.1 including e4 components, those components were migrated into Platform Git Repos and don’t count as incubating since from an IP point of view, ie the parallel IP policy doesn’t apply.

I will double check with the Eclipse PMC though, since org.eclipse.e4.ui.workbench.swt_0.12 for instance does include public API packages so the API at least hasn’t graduated in that case. Something similar, I think, applies to org.eclipse.equinox.bidi_0.10.0.

The other 0.* bundles are 3rd party dependencies (apache Felix Gogo, JSch, Javaewah

Thanks,

Martin

Dear package maintainers,

our final release is approaching fast and this is the time when I start asking IP related questions...

Packages that contain content from Eclipse projects that are in incubation phase have to have an archive file name that includes "incubation" and need to be marked on the download page.

Therefore I need the confirmation of *every* package maintainer that her/his package contains or does not contain "incubation" components.

To make it easier I've run some scripts and have been looking into the packages and found the following suspicious files in the packages:

automotive ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
eclipse/features/org.eclipse.graphiti.feature_0.10.0.v20130612-0936/feature.properties

parallel ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please note that your answer is a hard requirement... either a yes or a no... and I need an answer from every package maintainer.

Thanks,
Markus
