Re: [epp-dev] p2 question

As long as you are counting only one of them, both should lead to the same results.

After some thoughts I believe it would be better to use the features only, because this is the artifact that needs to change in one of our updates. There could be rare cases where we update a package without updating the bundle.

Hi everyone,

I am currently making sure that our app for compiling data for p2 is correct.  After digging into the data I came across 2 type of p2 files (bundle & feature).

For example:
/stats/technology/epp/packages/juno/org.eclipse.epp.package.modeling.bundle-1.5.0.20120131-1544
/stats/technology/epp/packages/juno/org.eclipse.epp.package.modeling.feature-1.5.0.20120620-0855

I am currently wondering what constitutes one user download of the EPP packages from p2?
Should my stats count both type of files?

Currently we are only counting p2 downloads from files that include .bundle in the file name.

thanks
