Re: [epp-dev] EPP Indigo SR1 RC2

Ah, I should have double-checked my calendar, sorry. Yes, you are right that EPP-build day is this Friday. Maybe it was a good decision to start another build in the background ('just in case') to have one ready when one is needed.

On the other hand, building and releasing the packages within one day is quite challenging, given that the build takes a while, we need to copy the packages to the mirrors, update the web site, *and* we have package maintainers living in nearly all timezones around the world.

Expect another mail from me in a few minutes with a pointer to a new build... and another sorry for the confusion.

Thanks,
Markus

One day delay? No. Our maintenance builds cycles are (always) from Monday (+0) , +1, +2, +3 (to Thursday) for repo work with Friday being EPP day. Yes, making it "late in the day" on Friday, instead of early. So, I think we are not late according to our schedule: http://wiki.eclipse.org/Indigo/Simultaneous_Release_Plan#SR1.

A few days ago, I reminded cross-project readers that +3 day was on Thursday (at 5 PM Eastern). Maybe it would have helped to include reminder that Friday all day was EPP day?

If you do not want to use the EGit contribution, it would probably be worth file to check with them if it contained anything significant. As far as I know, they were just correcting a copyright date or something ... but ... it could have been a large set of changed they was adopters and users to begin testing, maybe.

Sorry for the confusion.

I haven't heard anything until now and couldn't find any info about a one-day delay on cross-projects. I am tempted to release the build that we have instead of rebuilding/retesting RC2 again.

There was one update to maintenance repo after this build ... for egit. While I have no knowledge of details about what changed, I suspect it is important to get the latest into to RC2.

Hi *,

this is very likely the Indigo SR1 RC2  build that I will ask you to test when all packages are built
