Re: [epp-dev] re-rebuilding packages or not?

For me, I've been brought around to the view we do not need to respin to be in perfect sync with repository (that is, there is no reason we in EPP _have_ to have the exact same content someone would have if they installed directly from the repository. Especially, in a case like these lucene bundles, where a) there is no known user impact one way or the other, and b) if we could control it, most of us would omit them anyway!  So, to document promotion votes officially

+1 Java EE IDE
+1 _javascript_ IDE

And, that's +1 we are ready to release these (not to rebuild).

Thanks so much Markus for your detailed analysis to help us (at least me) understand these issues.

And, thanks everyone else for all the last minute churn! (Its a good thing we had some buffer in our plan :/

At the moment I do not think the additional/optional org.apache.lucene.* bundles in RC4 qualify for a rebuild. Please raise your voice if you have another opinion or if this causes some trouble in your package.

Thanks, Markus

It looks like there are more differences in the RC4 and RC5 packages than expected. Rebuilding RC5 means that we all need to test them again. Any thoughts?

Thanks and regards, Markus
