[epp-dev] How exact should our EPP Product definitions be?

That is, should we say exactly this versions of features go into them.

I sort of thought we were already, for some reason, but due to a combination of events, I've discovered that if the main EPP feature gets updated, then any and all updates that p2 can manage to find (from any enabled site) will get sucked in as well. Sometimes, that might actually be a good thing, from some points of view, for some users. But ... seems counter to the spirit of having an exact, predictable "installed product" based entirely on the EPP definition.

If I'm just being too much of a purist, and making a big deal out of nothing (as usual :) that's fine, but wanted to call this issue to the attention of this list, and see if there's knowledgeable opinions. Please comment here or in bug 345503 [1] if it matters.
