Re: [epp-dev] Indigo M3 update...

It looks like there is no "negative" feedback, i.e. someone who is against a release today. That's what I hoped and expected (and I already copied the packages to the download server some hours ago). I am going to send the webmasters a mail asking them to make them available.

Thanks, Markus

Hi guys,

I've done a quick test on Pulsar Package for Win32 and Mac64 and it seems alright too. +1 for Pulsar.

I agree, that we should make them available and announce it. (And, I think we should have in M1 :) and every milestone).

I think as long as they are presented as "milestones for early testers" then everyone knows they are getting milestones,
and not finished releases. (That is, they don't have to be perfect).

This not only helps the community get the latest peek and new function, but helps us by bugs being found as early as possible.

I've (quickly) tested the JEE and _javascript_ packages (on Windows, 32 bit) and can give my +1.

Thanks, Markus!

Hi *,

today I applied all changes that we did for Helios SR1 to the Indigo M3 package configurations - I hope I didn't miss something but there are still some months left to adjust the package configurations ;-)

I had no time to look into the Hudson package build scripts today, but as you can see here
http://build.eclipse.org/technology/epp/epp_build/indigo/download/20101111-1653/ I am able to run the build script manually from the command line. This time it looks like all packages can be build but the build is still running. I downloaded some of them, in particular the linux-64 versions of Java, LinuxTools, and RCP, and all of them looked good.

This is the first time that the Indigo packages are build and available for testing, so I'd like to ask you to send me feedback about your opinion: Do you think that they are already in good shape, i.e. in a state in which we can make them available and announce their availability? IMO we *should* make them available either on Friday or on Monday if there are no real stop-ship bugs. Let me know your opinions.

Thanks and regards,
Markus
