Re: [epp-dev] Helios packages - builds available for M3

> Honestly, I don't know what can I do ...

Well, let's get started for M4.

I've re-added PDT contribution to helios.build, for M4.

If I recall, months ago (e.g. for M1) it was failing for some reason, no
fix was forthcoming, so I removed it.

I'll take your comments here that you are now ready to participate, so
I've re-added it. But you'll need to monitor and if there is a problem,
track it down and fix it promptly, or I will need to remove again.

In general, the thing to do is to test /releases/staging through out a
milestone and make sure all is as you expect it to be. If things are not
as you expect, sometimes there are things you can do to fix it, but if
not, or if not obvious, I'll be glad to help. But, in many cases, I can
not "see" what to do if not driven by Projects.

I'll remind everyone of this process on cross-project list.

Thanks,

Honestly, I don't know what can I do in addition to
http://wiki.eclipse.org/Helios/Contributing_to_Helios_Build in order to
contribute PDT 2.0.0M3 build to Helios properly. It worked for Galileo,
since the process was automated by the EMF common build infrastructure.
Now, since we have moved to using Athena nothing related to contribution
to Helios is automated.

Best regards,
Michael

Yes and no... buckybuild creates its own repository somewhere on
build.eclipse.org which is then copied to releases/staging manually. AFAIK
Hudson does not have the required user rights to copy something to the
download area that is automatically distributed to all Eclipse mirror
servers.

I thought that aggregation of features into releases/staging is done as a
part of buckybuild process, isn't it?

I have just committed a new version of pdt.build that includes correct
feature version.
Unfortunately this bug prevents from updating this file automatically:
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=287013,
therefore this process is subject to human errors :)

Yes, should be possible... I thought that PDT did not yet contribute to
Helios.
What do I need to change?

Hi Markus,

I see that PDT packages were broken due to incorrect SDK feature version.
Is there a chance to run the Helios M3 build again?

Thanks,
Michael

Hi package maintainers,

if you are looking at http://www.eclipse.org/epp/download.php you will
find a new build 20091112-2140 that I already marked with '(Helios M3)'. I
did a quick sanity check of some Linux packages and they look pretty good
so far. Therefore I propose to declare this build as 'Helios M3' later
today.

Note that I don't plan to upload these packages to all of the mirrors.

Regards,
Markus
