Below are conforming edits to the definition of Derivative Works that now appears in the draft EPL version 2. Source and Object are not defined terms in this draft; hence the
proposed edits, making both terms lowercase.
"Derivative Works"
shall means any work, whether in Ssource or Oobject form, that is based on (or derived from) the Program and for which the editorial revisions, annotations, elaborations, or other modifications represent, as a whole,
an original work of authorship. For the purposes of this Agreement, Derivative Works shall not include works that remain separable from, or merely link (or bind by name) to the interfaces of, or subclass the Program and Derivative Works thereof.
It would also be worthwhile to consider binding affiliates to contributions made under this license. The language used in Apache contributor agreement could be instructive.
Lastly, it would be helpful to know the timeline for the ratification of the next version of the EPL.
