Update on status and work performed in Sept.:
25th
Created migration scripts that copies data (files + database) from epfwiki.net
to epf.elipse.org. Also created a script to automatically create the database
at epf.eclipse.org.
26th
- deployed the Eclipse Legal patch to epfwiki.net for the purpose of reviewing
the implementation
- Worked on deployment setup: found Subversion to be missing
- tested ability to schedule jobs (crontab)
- email to Eclipse Webmaster with findings.
27th
- Installed Subversion because we need a SVN client on that machine.
- Added monitoring service (MrAlert) to monitor availability of epf.eclipse.org
- email to Eclipse Webmaster with findings.
- created a Subversion repository because epf.eclipse.org cannot call out
to
external repositories for security reasons.
30th
- export of sources from epfwiki.net, import to epf.eclipse.org
- installed Ruby and RubyGems
- cannot continue because installer needs outside access -> email to
Denis
- tested email -> sendmail is not working, asked Denis for details of
the
Eclipse SMTP server
- tested auto update feature -> we need to download new versions of
OpenUP, XP
from the main (Eclipse) download site, not mirror sites -> this requires
a
patch
- started work on migration patch that will forward all requests at epfwiki.net
to epf.eclipse.org.
- created a enhancement request for Eclipse infrastructure
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=205161
I received an email from Eclipse Webmaster that outside access for that
server
will be allowed for the purpose of finishing the installation.
BTW during the migration all requests at epfwiki.net will produce a message
that the site is being migrated to epf.eclipse.org. It will not be possible
to
make changes, add comments. After the migration all requests at epfwiki.net
will be forwarded to epf.eclipse.org with the message that the site has
been
relocated to epf.eclipse.org, please update links etc.
