Hi Ricardo:
Yes, this summarizes everything quite
well, except with regards to item 3 and 4. I was aware of the possibility of an
IBM resource was available, but I was unaware there is a graphic artist working
on the “sliced table” diagram – that is what I get for flying
behind the plane again. However, the relevant bug, 146499 is still marked as
new.
Best regards,
Steve

Issue 150767
Steve, the banner is chosen by the user when publishing
the process (in the Publish dialog). I usually pick the OpenUP/Basic one to
post the published web site. However, the tool is (or was?) by default grabbing
the old BUP one if the user does not choose anything. Jinhua is aware of that
and have the OpenUP/Basic one to include as the default. As soon as we have the
new banner created by NumberSix, please let Jinhua know.
I
thought we had started discussion on items 3 and 4 below. The lifecycle
diagram goes into the roadmap, whereas the intro page will have the proposed
mix of Per's and Ana's graphics (a sliced table :-). There is currently a
proposal for the intro page attached (just replace the lifecycle with the
'sliced table' diagram). As far as I can tell, there is an IBM resource working
on the design of those things.
And,
besides the roadmap (140019) and intro page (I guess 150767), there is a
overview page you started on bug# 150768 (which is made mostly of text).
Does
that summarize what we have on the table?
Cheers,

RE: [epf-dev] Bugzilla Issue 150767
|
|
As life would have it just as I fired off the
e-mail, Junhua fixed the issue…however, the inconsistent about box text
was the easy part of the problem, the graphics still concern me. There is an
OpenUP graphic banner attached to issue 146491, but it is still in the RUP
format. We can use that (if someone can tell how to get it into
OpenUP…sigh I confess my ignorance). The other issue is the selection of
the OpenUP graphic for the introductory page, issue 146499. Its mostly because
of these two issues that I raised this bug to critical.
Best regards,
Steve

Hi Steve,
The About box problem is already described in https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=146493. This is a tool issue assigned to Junhua (although he hasn’t
accepted it yet). You may want to raise the priority or severity on this rather
than creating a new bug.

Subject: [epf-dev] Bugzilla Issue 150767
I
raised Bugzilla issue 150767
to critical because of its high visibility and shortness of time remaining to
fix this issue. Please consider this action as a cry for help on my part.
This
bug is really a look and feel bug and I have renamed it as such because
overlaps with several other bugs namely:
140019
- General Navigation Map
150768
- General Create Overview
146491
- General Graphics Banner Replace
146499
- General Create OpenUP Graphics
In
addition to these problems both the "About OpenUP/Basic" and
"About Base
Concepts"
page refer to version 0.x if accessed through the tree browser. This
is
different from accessing the "About Box" on the banner which refers
us to
Basic
Unified Process version 1.0
Issues:
1) I
can fix the “About” page issues (I assume both OpenUP/Basic and
“Base Concepts” are version 0.9. But I am unclear how to fix the
about box accessed through the banner.
2) What
is happening with 146491 the Banner Replacement? Our graphics banner still
reads Basic Unified Process? I assume Numbersix is working on this, but the bug
has not been accepted yet.
3) The
Navigation Map, Overview, and OpenUP graphic are all inter related issues. I
would like to see a consensus on what diagram an OpenUP user will see on the
introductory page. Right now we have the lifecycle diagram on the introductory
page, but I assume we are moving that to the road map page and replacing with
what?
4) Both
the lifecycle diagram and the OpenUP graphic need to be beautified by a graphic
artist. Is there one available to do this?
Can
we resolve these issues during the Friday telecon please? This will be our top
agenda item.
Best
regards,
Steve
