[epf-dev] Re: Bugzilla 135679
|
I need the email you used to sign up
for Bugzilla. DJ do you have a Bugzilla account? What's the email you used
to sign up?
Mark, as I understand, this bug is in
a such level of granularity that I would be the person to implement (since
it is a structural change and at this time we agreed that I would do those
changes as requested by disciplines owners).
There may be bugs that are in such fine-grained
level that may cause Bugzilla to be cluttered. It will not scale well if
I have to manage small tasks in Bugzilla for every single relationship
we want to add/modify/remove. I'd recommend us to analyze the disciplines/packages
and make a list of things to be changed. Then after this architectural
analysis we can enter appropriate bugs in Bugzilla, maybe grouping related
things to make triage more effective.
Does that sound fair? Please let me
know your thoughts.
Cheers.

I think this bug needs to be assigned to DJ. I don't have sufficient authority
to do this - although for a mrief moment I seemed to have access to the
bugzilla page that allowed me to change the assignee (before I logged in).
Are you able to assign this to DJ? I think it needs fixing before the freeze.
Thanks

I just think 1 hour call is not going to be sufficient for approving the
structural changes of various disciplines :-(
Anyway, propose what you guys think has to be proposed (so far what is
being discussed makes all sense to me). Post on COB Tue, so we have a chance
to analyze on Wed and be ready to have a (as productive as we can) meeting
on Thu.
Cheers and have all a nice weekend.

Oh - one more thing.
If I understand the team dynamics properly, I don't think you need to get
approval from the Wednesday call to add these guidelines. I think it's
just down to us to agree and submit this stuff. You write it, send it to
me for QA (or DJ for the Development stuff) & I'll commit it to the
discipline content.
I've cc'd Brian in case I've misunderstood but I think that's the way it's
supposed to work. It'll keep the audiocons a bit cleaner that way too.
cheers

Hi Mark,
For the architecture discipline
I plan to create a new guideline describing how to select an approach for
the architectural PoC. That?s an important step in the task and it seemed
like we should provide some help there. For everything else we should be
able to share guidances (e.g. Prototyping concept can support the PoC and
the UI prototype), or the guidance already exists but there?s no content
for it.
I think it would be worth adding
the new guideline as the PoC can take many different forms and it?s the
main input to the Analyze the Architecture task. Unless you have an objection,
let?s get approval for that at the Wednesday meeting.
Thanks,
Jim

Jim
Sounds good. I'll be spending some time
on this on Monday myself (though I'm just concentrating on getting Names,
Brief Descriptions & Relationships stable for Wednesday's freeze).
Is what you're proposing lickely to impact
any of these structural aspects, or is it adding detail to the structure
that's already there? If the former, then we need to get it agreed before
Wednesday's freeze.
thanks

Subject: Additions to BUP Content
Hi Mark & DJ,
Over the next couple of weeks I?m planning
on adding/changing some BUP content. Since you?re the package coordinators
for these areas I wanted to let you know what I?m planning to see if you
have any feedback or insight. Here?s an outline of what I plant to address:
- Development
- Task: Prototype the UI ? add content
- Artifact: UI prototype ? Create content
- Guidance/concept ? add for UI prototyping
if necessary or add content to Prototype concept
- Task: Design the Solution ? clean up existing
text, add content to complete the task
- Guideline: Finding Analysis Classes ? write
guideline recommending flowdown technique using sequence diagrams
- Architecture
- Task: Create Architectural Proof-of-Concept
? clean up existing text
- Concept: Prototype ? add content
- Guideline: Selecting an Approach for the
Architectural PoC ? create new element & add content
I?ll create Bugzilla entries for these on
Monday before I get started. Let me know if you have any questions.
BTW, if you want to contact me via instant
message you can reach me through GoogleTalk at jruehlin@xxxxxxxxx . If
you?re on MSN, AOL, etc, let me know. I should have the ability to IM to
those gateways soon.
Thanks,
Jim
