[epf-dev] BUP Content Authors Conference Call

hiho,

We are going to have a conference call for people who will be providing content to BUP 1.0 on Thursday, March 30 at 8am PST.  A subsequent message will give the conference call number and participant code.  In saying “BUP 1.0”, this call will cover the basic, minimal process without MDD/MDA or other planned plug-ins and will cover the content targeted for delivery as part of the 1.0 release scheduled for September 2006.

We are going to be assigning a committer to each package (i.e. each discipline, plus one for the general/overarching content).  Additionally we want a committer or other contributor to personally be assigned to each element.  Anyone can be a contributor and – based on the time it is taking to get “official” as a committer – we will use committers and those on track to become committers as package owners.

If you are going to participate in the call, please be familiar with the BUP content and be ready to discuss which elements you can complete.

There is an updated version of BUP in CVS; we are going to get that version uploaded to the eclipse.org website for convenient download.  There will be a message referencing the availability to download the updated version when it is available.

The updated version has some changes to the content based on the special interest group calls.  For the most part this just includes the merging of some of the content from the MDD sub-packages and some refactoring of guidance elements.  We have a confident baseline of identified elements for the non-guidance items in the process; we understand that additional guidance items will be identified as other parts are authored.
